About the Church in Madrid
Although we have been in this community for only 60 years, our beliefs go back 2,000 years to Christ and his Apostles. We are resolved to follow the Bible to the best of our ability and follow it only. We believe the Bible to be the only guide we need and that it is all sufficient for the Christian today to know the will of God.
The congregation that meets in Madrid is not a public organization but a collection of believers that meet, as the first century Christians did, to worship God and encourage each other in their walk with Him as well as remember the death of his son Jesus. We welcome visitors who are seeking the truth as found in the Bible and are eager to answer any questions they may have but do ask that while visiting they act in a manner respectful of our beliefs and dress modestly.

Our Worship
You will find our services both simple and sincere. We are governed by a few basic principles in our worship:
First of all, we believe that true worship causes us to look upward towards the object of our worship. It is not about making us feel good or feeling entertained, it is about giving God the honor and glory He deserves. This should give us great joy as his people and should be something we do truly enjoy doing but our main focus must be on praising our Father, not on ourselves.
Secondly, we seek to be both truthful and spiritual in our worship. Jesus said that "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:24 NASB) We seek to worship God in the way He has chosen, following Scripture and it's guidelines for our worship. But it is not merely enough to do the right things, they must be done with the right spirit. We strive to be a people wholly devoted to God, not just a people checking off a to-do list.
Thirdly, we seek to build one another up. In First Corinthians 14:26 Paul tells us that all things in our assemblies should be done for the edification of the congregation. This word edification doesn't get used a lot anymore but what it means for us as Christians is that the things we do together should result in our growing in wisdom, piety, happiness, and holiness. When we confront the Holy and Living God in worship we should all walk away from the experience as better followers of His.
We hope and pray that you will come and praise our maker with us and give us the opportunity to share His good news with you!
